This is the frontpage for my informatic site about the disaster that was the 1999 flood in Las Vegas.

On July 18th, 1999 Las Vegas was hit with a devastating flood. The flood has cost the city 20 million in damages. To find out more, click the links above.

Ever since this catastrophe, experts have gotten better at detecting floods. We have radars, rain gauges, and satelites to help us remain safe. However also following this tragedy, global warming has played into future floods. Dry dirt means less absorption which paired with rising water levels makes more catastrophic disasters.
