WHAT CAUSED THE FLOOD?

Flash flooding is common in Vegas, especially in the monsoon season, which it was at the time. Several weather systems had merged before 11:00 am on July 8th. Those systems include Moisture from Arizona, the Gulf of California, and Northern Mexico. Most of the rainfall occurred over the following 90 minutes.
